View from My (Fun) Run and Art Class

Calling all creatively-curious runners! Lace up and hit the road with me for an inspiring 1.5 to 3-mile outdoor fun run and mini art class. We'll warm up with a brief 15-minute talk about the View From My Run project. En route, we'll observe our surroundings and pause for a brief photo-taking break. Post-run, we'll return to a comfortable indoor or outdoor location and cool down with a relaxed, casual mini-art class where runners will create a timed drawing based on a photo of their choice. I will show printed samples of my View From My Run art and coach runners with tips and tricks as they make their own beautiful keepsake of the run.

  • No art experience necessary! All art supplies will be provided.

  • Runners should expect an easy 10:00+ pace and should bring a smartphone to take photos.

  • Ideal for a maximum of 20 participants, but I am happy to coordinate with larger groups

  • Appropriate for adults and children ages 15 and up

  • 1 to 2 hours

Don’t Quit Your Side Hustle

This talk is perfect for professionals in any field looking to find inspiration by forming new creative habits and starting a side hustle. I’ll share how View From My Run began unexpectedly as a personal project, and how my side work as a children’s author-illustrator turned into my full-time job (all while raising two kids!) I’ll present helpful, relatable case studies of fellow creatives whose side pursuits turned into award-winning work and successful, revenue-generating businesses. Audiences will leave with an action plan on how to commit to new creative habits and reinvigorate their work and career by starting their own side hustle.
