Teaching drawing fundamentals

Last week, the husband and I had the pleasure of going back to basics with the team at Adobe for XD Week in San Francisco. We taught a drawing fundamentals class complete with newsprint pads, charcoal, 2H and 4B pencils, kneaded erasers and… wait for it… drawing horses!! The setting for our class was the Old Mint in downtown San Francisco, which meant historic building, high ceilings and gorgeous natural light. Our students kicked things off with quick warm-up studies of a small dinosaur toy, and then rendered a still life and live model. It was so luxurious for many of these folks to block out uninterrupted time to just DRAW. SO much fun!
